it is a beast, and i get more looks of "WHATINTHEMOTHER" w/ the vtbass than any other piece of gear i own.
the sansamp paradriver di is great, too, and the blend knob is good for adding in your original bass tone to the overdriven goodness to keep it all tight. if you want something funkier and more on the what the hell is that side, try the zvex mastotron. its a little tricky only cause you have to dial in the impedence knob, but just spin it for the thickest most consistent sound, and you'll be in fuzz bass heaven.

I've had experience with the M80 before but I never owned it and got to play with it in depth. I got it yesterday and played with it last night. My God, this thing is pretty versatile for what I'm wanting to do! I'll agree that the blend knob doesn't work as good as it should, as it has to be pretty far left to give an even blend. But the EQ on the "clean" channel does a convincing job of driving my amp into lite overdrive, and then I have the distortion to go more over the top! Its like having a three channel amp! This may not be the best pedal, but it absolutely meets my purpose, and I have a feeling the bass player in my band is gonna have kittens over it! Thanks for all the suggestions, and hopefully when the wife lets me have some more lunch money, I 'll pick up the VT and the Caitlinbread, and maybe even the Wooly Mammoth ( I am a bit of a Duff fan.
