No More No More

Blood stains the ivorys
Of my daddys babygrand
I aint' seen a day like this
Since we started this band
No More, No More
No More, No More

Store bought clothes
Fallin' apart at the seams
Tea leaf readin' gypsies
Fortune tellin' my dreams

No More, No More
No More, No More

Holiday inns, lock the door with a chain
You love 'em and you hate it
But to me they're all the same

No More, No More
No More, No More

Baby I'm a dreamer
Found my horse and carriage

Stalemate jailbait
Ladies can't refuse
You love 'em then you leave 'em
With your sold out reviews

No More, No More
No More, No More

Sweet talkin' barroom, ladies disease
Slippin' with her lips
Slidin' down your knees

No More, No More
No More, No More

Baby I'm a screamer
Bound to a wife in marriage
Baby, I'm a dreamer
Found my horse and carriage

Ladies hold the aces
And their lovers call it passion
The men call it pleasure
But to me it's old fashioned

Times they're a changin
Nothin' ever stands still
If I don't stop changin
I'll be writin' out my will

It's the same old story
Never get a second chance
For a dance to the top of the hill

Baby I'm a dreamer
Found my horse and carriage

As a native New Yorker It seems I went to Madison Sq. Garden almost monthly thru out the 70's to see Aerosmith, Man it was great, I bet I have seen them at least 20 times back then.
I also have seen them in the 80's 90's and in recent years.
They always put on a fantastic show, I never feel cheated. Tyler can still sing his ass off. I hope Tyler can be healthy but that is up to him. I agree the great album are the early ones but the guys deliver live.
PS, so do the Rolling Stones!

The thing that surprised me is seeing the band up close and realizing that Brad plays all the best stuff from the early records.
Yeah.. the camera people still show Joe while Brad is soloing but BRAD is the man in that band.. just not as flamboyant a dresser I guess.

OH PS
There is no Aerosmith without Tyler and I saw the Joe Perry Project first go round...
Wouldn't see it again.

The funny thing about these guys is, Tyler CAN still sing his butt off, Brad can still play like he did on the first albums, and Joe is still playing like Joe always did (love it or hate it), and the rhythm section still sounds as good as they did on Rocks. So the pieces of the band are all still there and have been since Rocks. So once they cleaned up, what's the problem? I think Joe Perry nailed it in one of his recent criticisms when he said "Steven and I have sat in the same room and written a song in 10 years".

And that's exactly where the problem has been. call it lazy, call it lack of fire, call it using outside writers too much, call it what you will, but they cannot write like they were once capable of. As long as that is the case (and has been for a long time now), there's no reason for them to bother with any more albums. If they think they have another masterpiece in em, then by all means they should give it a shot and see what happens. Otherwise, no reason to bother.

Oh sheesh this thread is getting a bit judgemental imo (even on my part!).

Joe Perry and Brad Whitford have for the most part been able to play well together, sparsely and for the song.

The first time i saw Aerosmith live at Kemper Arena in about 1978-79, the show was absolutely atrocious, overblown/distorted PA mix, you could not tell one song from the next, HORRIBLE to say the least and the band looked/sounded tired.

As i mentioned earlier, the early 80s reunion show at Starlight Theatre was completely the opposite, it was superb, the bands performance and sound were excellent and looking back,i am not at all surprised at Aerosmiths' success in the 80s-90s after seeing that show.

Personally, i think Aerosmith are fully capable of creating a great collection of new songs, whether or not they can perform well live night after night on a long tour, thats another issue entirely imo.

Good. They have not done anything DECENT since Permananent Vacation. Now the world can be spared from Tyler doing the Mark Hudson/Diane Warren song book of cheese under the Aerosmith banner.

None of these bands ever really break up. Their houses, cars, and lifestyles won't allow it.

We saw them a few years ago and they only played about a 40 min set. We paid something like $100 to be out on the lawn! Not that I expected it to be a DMB show or anything but it was quite disappointing. I'd blame it on old age but a close friend of mine went to see the Rolling Stones a few weeks later and they went on for hours!

I was into Aerosmith early on but I just don't get as excited about them anymore and haven't in quite awhile. Maybe they'll hang it up and just do a few new tracks in the studio every few years when they release "Greatest Hits" albums. That's seemed to work for a few bands.

I just heard something on the news to the effect that Perry says Tyler has left the band but the band will continue???
WHAT???
I know myself and about 1000 other guitar players that would love to play with Steven and as the voice of the band I would bet he could draw..
The line..

I have been a huge fan since I was a little boy and I hate to see the band break up.
I hate it more to see them write and perform what amounts to Bon Jovi songs..

Fact is is that the comeback at the time they came back required them to sound like Desmond Childs...
Mutt Lang etc..

Money is a good thing to have and those records provided them with an income...
I still would rather hear Rocks done in its entirety than to hear PINK...

Geeeez...

I feel weird about this...

I liked them more than any other band when I was a kids..

Sorry, rambling..

Couldn't agree more, but i hope Steven is able to take care of himself health-wise.

I mixed that show. I am glad you enjoyed it. I like the fact that you remember it even better.
